As a Child & Youth Support Worker at BoraCare, you will be an integral part of our team working on a 24/7 consistently rotating roster, encompassing day, afternoon, and night shifts. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a safe and supportive environment for children and young people.
  • Assisting children & young people with daily tasks and meeting their individual needs.
  • Engaging children & young people in age-appropriate activities and providing guidance in developing independent living skills.
  • Offering continuous care and support to ensure the well-being of the children and young people in our program.
  • Responding to trauma-based behaviours with empathy and understanding.

 

We seek individuals who embody:

  • Passion for caring and improving the lives of children and young people.
  • The ability to connect easily and comfortably with children and young people, while providing opportunities to connect to their culture.
  • Understanding of the impact of abuse and neglect on children and young people and the ability to offer support in challenging situations.
  • Demonstrated experience in responding to trauma-based behaviour.
  • Resilience in confrontational situations and a commitment to practicing self-care regularly.
  • Commitment to the continuity of care for children & young people.
  • A minimum Certificate IV in a relevant area of study and appropriate demonstrated knowledge and competencies.
  • A South Australian Working With Children Check (WWCC).
  • An NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC).
  • National Police Check.
  • An unrestricted current South Australian Drivers Licence.
  • A current Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 or HLTAID012).
  • Assessment as suitable via a Psychological Suitability Assessment.
  • A Safe Environments for Children and Young People (Through Their Eyes) Certificate.
  • Unrestricted eligibility to work in Australia.
  • Confirmation of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including Booster or medical exemption.
