Service Technician – RRR & Technical Product Support
Enjoy fault-finding, not just routine parts replacement? This is a hands-on technical role with genuine variety.
CPS Australia is looking for a practical Service Technician to join our Adelaide team, supporting the service, repair, warranty assessment and technical backup of our CPS product range – with a key focus on our CPS Oksys RRR automotive air-conditioning service machines. This role will suit a refrigeration mechanic, automotive A/C technician, diagnostic technician, electrical/mechanical service technician or experienced tradesperson who enjoys fault-finding and solving real-world technical problems.
This is not a standard workshop-only role. It combines hands-on service work, diagnostics, technical support and product learning across professional HVAC&R and automotive service equipment, with the opportunity to develop into a key technical support person for the CPS Oksys RRR range.
About CPS Australia
CPS Australia supplies a broad range of professional HVAC&R and automotive service equipment, including refrigerant recovery machines, vacuum pumps, leak detectors, manifolds, gauges, hoses, RRR machines and related workshop equipment. Our products are used by trade professionals, and our service backup is a critical part of the value we provide to customers, distributors and business partners.
About the Role
Based in Adelaide and reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll work closely with our experienced service technician and technical sales team to provide practical service and technical support across the CPS product range.
Your initial focus will be hands-on service, repair, warranty assessment and product support. As your product knowledge grows, the role will develop into broader technical support across the CPS Oksys RRR range, working with internal teams, distributors, suppliers and selected customers.
Key Responsibilities
• Service, repair, test and assess CPS products, including warranty claims
• Support the CPS Oksys RRR machine range and broader CPS product range
• Diagnose faults and recommend practical repair or support actions
• Provide technical support to internal team members, distributors, suppliers and customers
• Maintain accurate service, warranty, parts and technical records
• Build product knowledge across RRR machines, recovery machines, vacuum pumps, leak detectors, manifolds, gauges, hoses, automotive service equipment and related products
• Identify repeated faults, service trends or product issues and report these clearly
• Support improvements to service processes, warranty handling and customer outcomes
• Use CPS systems, service tools and future digital service support tools as required
• Work cooperatively within a small, practical and customer-focused team
What You’ll Bring
You don’t need to know every CPS product on day one – we’re more interested in your diagnostic ability, attitude and willingness to learn.
• Strong hands-on diagnostic ability across mechanical, electrical and/or refrigeration-related equipment
• Practical experience in service, repair, diagnostics or technical support
• Ability to read, understand and apply technical information
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Good computer, documentation and record-keeping skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work well in a small team environment
• A calm, helpful and customer-focused approach
Highly Regarded
• Current Refrigerant Handling Licence
• Automotive air conditioning experience or licence
• Current driver’s licence
• Experience with RRR machines, refrigeration service tools, automotive workshop equipment or related products
• Experience working with distributors, trade customers or suppliers
• Basic electrical testing and diagnostic experience
• Experience using ERP, service, warranty or job management systems
What’s On Offer
• Genuine variety – hands-on diagnostics, product support and customer contact, not just workshop routine
• The opportunity to build specialist product knowledge and develop into a trusted technical support person for the CPS Oksys RRR range
• Work with quality, professional-grade products and an experienced, supportive Adelaide team
• Full-time role, with some flexibility considered for the right experienced candidate
