We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Child & Youth Worker to join our team. In this dynamic role, you will lead by example, advocating for the rights and voices of children while fostering their resilience, self-esteem, and sense of belonging. Your expertise will guide our team in delivering therapeutic, trauma-informed care that transforms lives.

With a focus on personalized, culturally sensitive care, you will oversee everything from planning and implementing therapeutic activities to ensuring compliance with safety standards. Your ability to foster meaningful connections with children, staff, and stakeholders will be key to your success.

 

What You’ll Bring to BoraCare

You are a compassionate leader with a deep understanding of trauma-informed care and cultural competence. With at least four years of experience in child and youth services, including leadership roles, you have the skills to inspire and support others. You’re a natural communicator, highly organized, and committed to the well-being of both your team and the children in your care.

 

You’ll also need:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child & Family Intervention, Disability Services or above – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
  • A Suitable Psychometric Assessment Outcome (or willingness to obtain)
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in child and youth services, with demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, cultural competence, and child protection principles.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures in the child welfare sector.
  • Current Working with Children Check and relevant clearances as required by regulatory authorities.
