Living Colour Nursery is South Australia’s leading wholesale and bedding plant producer, located on a 10-acre site in Adelaide’s northern suburbs. We produce millions of high-quality plants annually for home gardeners, garden centres, and the local horticultural industry across SA and the NT.
We are currently seeking an experienced Head Grower to lead our growing operations, with a focus on plant health, production efficiency, and team development.

About the Role
As Head Grower, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the entire nursery growing function, leading a team of growers and assistants. You’ll ensure optimal plant health and productivity while driving process improvement, compliance, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, support, and develop the growing team.
Monitor and manage plant health across all growing zones.
Oversee watering, fertilisation, pest and disease control, and hygiene practices.
Develop and implement strategies to improve production efficiency and quality.
Collaborate with the Operations Manager and other departments (e.g., Sales, Despatch).
Maintain accurate reporting and compliance records.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Proven leadership skills with team management experience in horticulture or related fields.
Hands-on knowledge of growing operations and plant production.
High attention to detail and a commitment to quality outcomes.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work in physically demanding outdoor conditions.
Desirable:
Experience in large-scale nursery or plant production.
Awareness of sustainable growing techniques and innovation in horticulture.
