Living Colour Nursery is South Australia’s leading wholesale and bedding plant producer, located on a 10-acre site in Adelaide’s northern suburbs. We produce millions of high-quality plants annually for home gardeners, garden centres, and the local horticultural industry across SA and the NT.
We are currently seeking an experienced Business Manager to lead our business development and administrative operations, with a focus on strategic planning, client engagement, and team development.

About the Role
As Business Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving new growth opportunities, supporting client relationships, and ensuring smooth administrative operations within Living Colour Nursery. This includes identifying new business prospects, managing customer service and internal communications, supporting marketing activities, and maintaining day-to-day operational efficiency in the office. The role also involves strategic planning, performance monitoring, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, supervising administrative staff, and collaborating closely with nursery operations and management.
Key Responsibilities
Business Improvement & Client Engagement:
Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across wholesale, retail, and commercial sectors.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry partners.
Prepare proposals, tenders, and business development documentation.
Represent the nursery at industry events and client meetings.
Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance business operations and client satisfaction.
Develop and implement business improvement initiatives to streamline processes and increase efficiency.
Sales and Strategy:
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve business growth targets.
Analyse market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.
Collaborate with the marketing team to support sales campaigns and promotional activities.
Monitor sales performance and adjust strategies as needed to meet objectives.
Develop and maintain a sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-up and conversion of leads.
Analytical Skills:
Utilise data analysis to track sales leads and monitor business performance.
Assist with budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
Maintain accurate records, CRM systems, and client databases.
Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support business decisions.
Utilise advanced analytical tools and techniques to forecast trends and identify opportunities for growth.
Office & Operational Management:
Oversee and manage daily administrative tasks and workflows.
Coordinate communication between departments to ensure consistent service delivery.
Handle general enquiries and support customer satisfaction initiatives.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Marketing & Communications:
Support digital and print marketing campaigns.
Coordinate website updates and social media content.
Monitor competitor activity and market trends.
Assist in developing marketing materials and sales tools.
Coordinate with external agencies and vendors for marketing and promotional activities.
Leadership & Team Collaboration:
Lead and support administrative staff.
Promote a positive and professional workplace culture.
Facilitate staff development and training where appropriate.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
